Minnesota Fats Covington Table Review

A friend of mine's father just bought him one of these tables for his basement, as he's been wanting one for quite some time. I've been lucky enough to spend a lot of time over at his place trying out his table lately, so here's my experience with it.

Its pretty nice looking, but that's sort of depending on who you ask. My buddy's wife doesn't really like the way it looks, but both him and I think its beautiful. Minnesota Fats makes high quality tables, and this particular one did not disappoint. It has a beautiful colored fabric top, which makes for a pleasant pool playing experience. The wood itself is pretty dark, and blends in well with his darker basement.

For those unaccustomed to putting together a pool table, it can be a frustrating experience. My friend called me over one night as he was having some difficulty, and knew that I've put together a few. I had no issue with helping out, as once you've done it a few times its not so bad. Just make sure you give yourself plenty of time, take a breather when you need to do so, and be sure to completely follow the directions and you'll be just fine.

As I mentioned, the table plays great. Its completely straight; no bumps or divets or tilts to ruin your game. Its a nice, mid-range speed table (which is based largely on the cloth). In short, its a great first table for aspiring pool players.
